Abstract

The aim of the teaching is for students to experience the most common techniques and strategies used to build computer attacks, detect them, and analyze their behavior with the final goal of learning how to prevent or mitigate such attacks. A further aim of the course is to develop skills in communicating and presenting one’s work to colleagues.

At the end of the teaching, the student will be able to describe the most common attacks on networks and computers; explain and exploit the most common web vulnerabilities; explain the security threats existing in operating systems and software; understand and explain reverse engineering techniques used to analyze malware; understand and explain basic forensic analysis techniques.
